IEntry · The Forbidden Canticles

Four rare manuscripts from 1557 to 1597 scanned at archival resolution: Victoria's Missa O Magnum Mysterium, Calvisius's Harmonia Cantionum, Vittoria Aleotti's madrigals and the Phalesius Liber Quartus.

Source material rather than a recording: four volumes from the late sixteenth century, reproduced page by page at a resolution that survives printing. Latin, Italian and German editions, useful to composers and to anyone researching the studio's liturgical writing.

For early-music performers, composers, manuscript enthusiasts and libraries.
